The Community Fabric Project is a year-long collaboration, bringing together nonprofits, businesses, and community members to create textiles that weave connections across Buffalo. Now more than ever, we need to come together to show that our successes are shared—building a community of trust that lifts us all.
1. CREATE—Attend, host, or sponsor a workshop. Stitch Buffalo staff members & artisans will provide materials and instruction to help you make your unique mark on this project.
2. WIN—Everyone who contributes has a chance to WIN products made from the fabric!
3. CELEBRATE—The results of this year-long project will be revealed at a Stitch Buffalo event in early 2026. All participants will be invited to celebrate their collective creation.

Slow stitching is a mindfulness practice that is rooted in sustainability. The practice itself is a thoughtful and meditative one: it is mindfulness in action. By the end of the class, each student will have created a unique piece of stitched art that can be framed, glued to a favorite journal, or stitched onto a jacket or backpack.
