Sewing with PDF Patterns: MyFit Joggers (All Body Types, Genders, and Sizes!)—January 27, February 3, 10, 24 (4:30–7:00pm)
$125.00

This class is suited to sewists who want to learn how to: take body measurements; create PDF patterns; assess the stretchiness of knit fabrics; and sew a beautiful, perfectly fitted garment.  We will take the guesswork out of sizing using the Apostrophe.com pattern method, which allows us to carefully measure our size, input that information into their pattern drafting system, then assemble a customized paper pattern.  There is no limit on size, body shape, age, or gender—you can sew a pair of joggers, shorts, capris, or wide-leg pants for yourself or a loved one. You will be amazed at the result!

PREREQUISITES:
Please note: This class is NOT appropriate for absolute beginners. Students must know how to thread and operate a sewing machine and should have completed at least a few basic projects within the last 5 years. Completion of Stitch Buffalo’s “Introduction to Machine Sewing” class or equivalent experience is required.

SUPPLIES:
Students may bring their own fabric, tools, and sewing machine—or use those available in the studio. The instructor will also have some fabrics available ($5/yard). How to choose and shop for appropriate fabrics will be covered in the first session of this workshop. If you have questions about tools or supplies, please contact michellep@stitchbuffalo.org and we will put you in contact with the instructor.

INSTRUCTORS:
Jane Cameron and Caitlin Powalski are experienced garment sewists and long-time participants at Stitch Buffalo. Jane is a current board member of Stitch Buffalo, while Caitlin is a volunteer in our sewing machine repair and maintenance program.

SUSTAINABILITY:
Stitch Buffalo is committed to fostering sustainability practices and reducing waste in the textile industry. In this workshop, we will strive to minimize waste and work as much as possible with supplies that have been rescued for reuse.

INCLUSION & ACCESSIBILITY:
Stitch Buffalo is an ADA compliant facility, with accessible entrances, tables, restrooms, and drinking fountains. Please contact us if you require any accommodations to make your visit safe and comfortable. We are happy to work with you!
