Imagine making prints on fabric, paper, and beyond—working only with the sun’s energies to transform simple chemical preparations into permanent prints. Also called cyanotypes, sun prints have a vivid blue color and offer endless possibilities as a print medium.
In this class, we’ll discuss methods of creating sun prints. If the sun is shining, we’ll take our materials outdoors to explore printing on fabrics as well as paper. If the sun isn’t shining, we’ll be printing indoors while working with a UV light-source.
Everyone will leave with their own completed prints created on fabric, paper, or likely both—and an understanding of how to continue printing.
