Learn practical, confidence-building skills to help your clothes last longer in this hands-on class focused on basic mending and simple alterations. Designed for beginners and anyone looking to be more self-sufficient with their wardrobe, this class covers common repairs that can make a big difference in how your clothes look and feel.
Participants will learn how to replace a button, patch holes, repair split seams, and fix or adjust simple hems. We’ll introduce both hand-sewing and basic machine techniques, along with tips for choosing the right tools, threads, and stitches for different fabrics and repairs.
Beyond technical skills, this class emphasizes a mindset of care—maintaining and adapting what you already own rather than replacing it. Mending is an accessible way to save money, reduce waste, and build a more sustainable relationship with clothing.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with practical skills you can use immediately and the confidence to tackle everyday clothing repairs at home. No prior sewing experience is required.
