Mirror embroidery, also known as shisha or abhla bharat embroidery, is a traditional technique where small mirrors or reflective materials are stitched onto fabric. It's a common embroidery method found in various parts of Asia—particularly India, Afghanistan, China, and Indonesia. The technique involves creating a base of stitches to secure the mirrors and then often adding decorative stitches around the edges. In this class, Maimana and Najeeba will walk you through the basics of their mirror-embroidery process.
