ABOUT THE EVENT—REMAKE is a multi-day fundraising and community engagement event centered on the creative transformation of textiles. Throughout the weekend, participants work alongside artists, designers, and refugee women artisans to repair, redesign, embellish, dye, tailor, and reimagine garments and materials that might otherwise be discarded. The event explores themes of sustainability, craftsmanship, cultural exchange, creativity, and personal transformation. It is held in-person at our studios in Buffalo, NY.
OUR AUDIENCE—Our audience includes dedicated textile artists, makers, students, designers, sustainability advocates, and community members who may simply be drawn to creativity, fashion, art, and hands-on learning. We aim for the keynote to be intellectually engaging while also accessible and inspiring to a broad public audience.
SCHEDULE—The keynote presentation will take place during the evening opening celebration on Thursday, April 8, 2027, followed by a reception and opportunities for informal conversation with attendees. We would also welcome a discussion of additional workshops, demonstrations, or community engagement opportunities, if you are interested.
COMPENSATION—An honorarium and all travel-related expenses will be provided. Details can be negotiated based on your availability and participation.
