Make one-of-a-kind holiday gifts for your family and friends! Kids (ages 8–13) of all skill levels will enjoy hands-on textile crafts in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Gifts you’ll make include:
• Macrame bracelet
• Indigo dyed t-shirt* (or other small item)
• Bag charm
• Block printed tea towel

*Note: Kids may bring a 100% cotton, white t-shirt that will fit their gift recipient. Otherwise, we’ll have tote bags or bandanas they can choose from to make their dyed project.

Snacks and beverages will be provided, but students are also welcome to bring lunch and can use our fridge. We’ll also have gift-wrapping supplies, so kids can take home gifts ready for giving!

INSTRUCTOR:
Classes will be led by Dawne Hoeg, the founder and executive director of Stitch Buffalo. She is an experienced instructor who served as the handwork teacher at the Aurora Waldorf School and taught in the Textile and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State College. She will be assisted by skilled volunteers with strong teaching experience, and artists from the Refugee Women’s Workshop.

SUSTAINABILITY:
Stitch Buffalo is committed to fostering sustainability practices and reducing waste in the textile industry. In this workshop, we will strive to minimize waste and work as much as possible with supplies that have been rescued for reuse.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Due to the nature of our classes and the preparation required, class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to attend a class, your registration fee cannot be refunded or transferred to another class.

Class Cancellation by Stitch Buffalo: Classes must meet a minimum enrollment in order to run. If Stitch Buffalo needs to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, registered participants will be notified 3–5 days before the scheduled class, whenever possible. In the event that Stitch Buffalo cancels a class, participants will receive a full refund of their class fee.

For each class, Stitch Buffalo offers one seat at half-price to a student or community member who otherwise could not afford to attend. To inquire about availability, please e-mail us. We have waiting lists for many classes, so if you register for this discounted class, please consider it a commitment to attend. Limit 2 discounted seats per person per year.
