With their ability to roam the earth as well as soar up into the sky, birds have long symbolized freedom. They are often seen as representative of the soul’s journey in pursuit of higher knowledge. More colloquially, seeing (and seeking) birds is a popular hobby that connects us with nature.

Each of our hand-embroidered bird pins is one of a kind—as individual as the woman who made it! Each pin is lovingly crafted in our studio or in the home of a resettled refugee woman from Buffalo, NY. All pins are made using upcycled materials, donated by the community and provided to our artists at no charge.

Materials: Pins are constructed using two layers of high-quality felt, stitched with cotton thread. Some have added beadwork.
