ABOUT THE ARTIST
Esther Yawng came to Buffalo from Myanmar. She learned machine sewing five years ago in a program at SewREDI, where she specialized in sewing bags, wristlets, and zipper pouches. When SewREDI ceased operations during the pandemic lockdowns, Esther was one of several artisans they referred to Stitch Buffalo. And we are so glad they did!

Esther is meticulous in her sewing, and loves to work with special fabrics. She says it makes her happy to make things—and she loves the flexibility of selling her work at Stitch Buffalo. Setting her own schedule and working from home enables her to pick up her kids from school every day and be present for her family.
