Machine Sewing: Reusable Period Products—March 7, 2026 (1:00pm–4:00pm)
Machine Sewing: Reusable Period Products—March 7, 2026 (1:00pm–4:00pm)
Learn how to sew reusable period products that are comfortable, customizable, and better for the planet. Participants will learn what tools, notions, and patterns are needed, how to care for and transport reusable products, and where to find free and affordable resources. The class includes a hands-on project: sewing your own flannel liner to take home.
We’ll also look at other types of reusable options—including pads, period underwear, and gusher pads—along with the wicking, absorbent, and waterproof fabrics that make them work. The teacher will have optional take-home kits (including specialty fabrics) available for purchase after class.
PREREQUISITES
Students should have basic sewing machine experience. This class is not for absolute beginners.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Jennifer Warner enjoys sewing practical items—and reusable period products are sustainable, comfortable, and empowering. Jen taught herself to sew again after learning as a child. She enjoys sewing because she can create useful items and learn new skills.
