Modern Tapestry Weaving—October 17, 2026 (10:00am–2:00pm)
Participants in this class will learn the basics of tapestry weaving along with ways to make their own unique tapestry pieces. Using a traditional frame loom or a hand-made one, students will learn how to set up the loom. Weaving techniques taught in this class will include plain weave, inlay, twining, looped pile, and fringe. Using recycled and unique materials, students can experiment with patterns and textures to make one-of-a-kind pieces.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Everyone at any skill level can participate.
INSTRUCTOR:
Ashley Fidler is a fiber artist who holds a BFA in Fibers from Buffalo State University. Her work has been seen in BSU RUNWAY shows, at Fig Fashion Runway, as well as at the Czurles-Nelson Gallery.
