Eco-Print Workshop: Bundle Dyed Silk Scarves—June 21, 2025 (10:00am–1:00pm)

$66.00

If you love creating with flowers, leaves, and other gathered natural materials, this is the class for you!

Bundle dying is a form of natural dying where you secure a bundled fabric with plant materials with twine to ensure a close contact between the layers, allowing for optimal pigment transfer. By applying heat through steaming, the plant pigments are set onto the receiving material.

You will be making two bundle-dyed silk scarves (22 x 22 inches) with a variety of dried botanicals including black hollyhocks, chamomile, marigold, hibiscus, dahlia, rose petals, cosmos flowers, eucalyptus leaves, onion skins, carrot tops, and any other in season plants/leaves we can gather. A list of regional/seasonal plants that create a permanent dye will be provided.

You will be creating and taking home your own beautiful botanical scarves, printed from nature’s materials. It is a serendipitous process with results that are unpredictable—but always beautiful!

All supplies will be provided. No experience is required. This class is best for ages 16+. Class fee of $66 includes instruction ($50) and all supplies ($16).
