Kids Workshop (Ages 8–12): Stitch Your Own Finger Puppets—June 6, 2026 (2:00–4:00pm)
Why make finger puppets? Because it’s fun! Finger puppets inspire stories and boost your imagination! Learn how to bring simple materials to life by making your very own finger puppet while learning basic sewing skills. Learning to sew by hand is a skill that you can carry with you all through life—so you’ll learn a valuable skill while making something fun!
What will your child learn? In our finger puppet class, your child will learn how to cut out a simple pattern and sew the pieces together. We will all make a cat finger puppet together—and, if there is time left in the class, they may choose to make another puppet of their own design! We will learn to sew using a simple running stitch to add the cat’s features, as well as to stitch the front and back sides together. The students will learn how to thread their needle, knot it, and where to cut and hide the thread when finished sewing.
Safety and Comfort. There will be a short break and light snacks provided to keep us going, but please bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated. Also, please be aware that this is a working studio and shop‚ so screaming, yelling, and running are prohibited. We must be mindful of the space we are in and respectful of the tools and people all around us. We will be using small and sharp tools that we must use safely and carefully so as to not harm ourselves, others, or the tools themselves. Thank you!
