School Break Camp: Explore the Textile Arts at Stitch Buffalo—February 19 and 20, 2026 (9:30am–4:30pm)
Students may enroll for one day or two! Select an option at checkout.
While school is closed for Mid-Winter Break, kids ages 8–13 are invited to explore their creativity at Stitch Buffalo! Participants will explore a wide variety of textile arts, materials, and processes while developing their design and collaborative skills in a relaxed, encouraging environment.
Our class sizes are limited to ensure plenty of individualized attention and support, so students of all skill levels, including absolute beginners, may attend. Students with previous experience will have the opportunity to take on more complex projects.
What to Wear and Pack:
Students wear comfortable clothes. It’s best to select something you won’t mind getting dirty. (We do our best to be neat, but some techniques can get messy!). Students should bring their own lunch. We have a fridge and microwave, as well as a water bottle filler. Snacks will be provided.
Instruction:
Lead instructor Dawne Hoeg is the founder and executive director of Stitch Buffalo. She is an experienced instructor who served as the handwork teacher at the Aurora Waldorf School and taught in the Textile and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State College. She will be assisted by skilled volunteers with strong teaching experience, including artists from the Refugee Women’s Workshop, Stitch Buffalo volunteers, and college interns.
