SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE
Students should have basic sewing machine skills and have completed one or more projects within the last few years. This class is not well suited for absolute beginners with little or no sewing machine experience.

ABOUT THIS CLASS:
Take your sewing skills to the next level by learning to make a removable decorator pillow cover. Over the course of two sessions, you will learn how to plan your design, select and cut fabric, sew your pillow cover, and work with zippers.

WHAT TO BRING:
Your sewing machine in working order (or you may use one of the Stitch Buffalo machines). Sewing tools are available at Stitch but students are encouraged to bring their own tools. Project materials will be provided.

INSTRUCTOR:
Michelle Frick has been sewing clothes for herself and others for decades. Her passion is supporting new and experienced sewists in the creation of beautiful, comfortable clothes that fit as great as they look. Over the last four years, Michelle has been working as a garment sewing instructor and has been immersed in research on the latest techniques and methods, including CAD pattern drafting, projector sewing, and sustainable sewing practices both in the home sewing and commercial fashion industries.

Stitch Buffalo is committed to fostering sustainability practices and reducing waste in the textile industry. In this workshop, we will strive to minimize waste and work as much as possible with supplies that have been rescued for reuse.
